The film incorporates the latest 3D techniques to bring to life homo erectus and sapiens, alongside long-extinct giant animals which only existed in Asia such as the saber-tooth tiger, stegodon and gigantopithec.

Some 20 years after the incredible success of “The Odyssey of the Species” viewed by over 350 million spectators worldwide, a docu-fiction about the great voyage into our origins, director Jacques Malaterre comes back with the fabulous odyssey of the Man of Peking which showcase the latest scientific discoveries surrounding Asian prehistory. Starting with Homo Erectus, whose fossils were found in China during excavations at Zhoukoudian. A site which has been chosen as a UNESCO worldwide heritage site, still very little know to the general public. China and Asia reveal a new chapter in the history of Humankind where up to 6 different types of hominides co-existed, a unique occurrence throughout the entire history of the planet.
